How do you get that "deadbeat" broker/carrier list?
This is a question frequently heard by editors here at Land Line. The simple answer is: It's for OOIDA members only. The list used to appear in the Members Only edition of Land Line and on the member-only area of the OOIDA Web site, www.ooida.com. Currently, the only place you can get it is on the OOIDA Web site, Members Only section.
How do you get there? Go to the Members Only home page. One of the bulleted links is called “The Check Is In the Mail.” Click there to get the updated list. This is not a slam sheet, nor a list of bad guys. It's just a working list that is used by OOIDA's Business Services department, and they've decided to share it with members.
This list provides members with information related to brokers and carriers who have a history of late payment or nonpayments for loads hauled by members. You can print out the list. You can see the whole list at once or search by category (broker, carrier, freight forwarder, shipper/manufacturer) and also by state.
