OOIDA Call to Action – Pennsylvania members
September 15, 2009
Heads up, Pennsylvania truckers! The opinions of Pennsylvania residents are being sought on the long-term path of the state Department of Transportation. The focus is on what projects the state plans to undertake.
PennDOT is giving citizens a chance to comment and offer recommendations over the next two months as the State Transportation Commission prepares to update transportation plans. The commission is working on the 2011 update of the commonwealth’s 12-year transportation program during a series of public hearings.
To see the projects in the current 12-year plan, click here. Then click on “2009 Twelve Year Program Project List.” (It is a lengthy list that may take several minutes to load.)
The program is updated every two years and serves as the state’s priority list for all transportation projects. The current program includes more than 200 pages of projects.
Upcoming hearings are scheduled at the following locations:
Thursday, Sept. 17 – Lebanon, Lantern Lodge, 411 N. College St. (SR 501 and 422), Grand Ballroom. Tentative start time is 8:30 a.m.
