5/6/09-A bill died that called for putting passenger limits on young drivers.
Sponsored by Rep. Kelly Skidmore, D-Boca Raton, HB7 prohibited drivers under age 18 from transporting more than three passengers under age 18 during the first six months after obtaining their licenses. Exceptions would have been made for relatives. Violations would have been secondary offenses.
After six months, drivers 16 to 18 could have had no more than three passengers at a time under 18.

3/13/09-A bill in the Roads, Bridges & Ports Policy Committee would put passenger limits on young drivers.

The bill can be considered during the session that begins in March.
