New York

Attention New York Members:

Mark your calendar for a meeting this Thursday

New York Governor David Paterson announced a plan this week that would put the state’s Department of Transportation in charge of developing a new policy to keep all large trucks off certain highways in the Finger Lakes region and effectively force them on to the NY State Thruway. This could mean added miles and more money out of the pockets of truckers who operate in or through New York.

The good news is that some members of the New York Assembly are ready to help truckers and are willing to listen to your input on how to challenge what the governor has proposed.

Plan on attending a roundtable discussion for truckers and NY lawmakers set for this Thursday May 22 in Wilton, NY at 2:30 p.m. at the Wilton Travel Plaza at Exit 16 on I-87. Assemblyman Roy McDonald, R-Saratoga is spearheading the meeting.
