7/24/08-A bill died in the House Finance Committee that sought to give motorists and truck drivers some relief at the fuel pump.
Sponsored by Rep. Cary Allred, R-Burlington, HB2587 would have eliminated a portion of the state’s 29.9-cent-per-gallon tax on fuel purchases. The tax is comprised of a 17.5-cent flat rate and a 12.4-cent wholesale component.
